“This is something we’re all doing together,” Taylor Swift told a packed out stadium in the middle of the rain. “Such a bonding experience.”
After a four-hour delay during which there were multiple times where I thought for sure she'd call the whole thing off, Taylor finally got the show on the road and played a three-hour set through an on again/off again downpour. I figured the rain would cause a few technical snafus but if it did, I missed them. I also figured the late start would mean she’d have to cut the set short a little but she didn’t quit until 1:30 in the morning. The packed out stadium ate it up. I did too if we’re being real!

I’m a Swiftie by marriage, but had been looking forward to the show and was very pumped she came through. I’ve only been to a few rain shows before, but they’re always memorable.
And I do like Taylor. Not quite as much as some people in my marriage, but I like her. Standing there in the crowd, there was nobody she reminded me quite as much as the artist who probably is my all-time favorite. It’s an inflammatory thing to say, but I really do think she’s following the Springsteen playbook in an interesting way. She does some of Springsteen’s tricks better than he did. But there are also a few hallmarks of Bruce’s career that she could stand to incorporate into her own.
